I love your idea for teaching children how to count using frogs. I expanded your original idea by writing number problems on the flowers. ie: 2+3. The children put two frogs on the lilypad. Then put three in the water. Then they count-on from two as they help the frogs leap out of the water onto the lilypads counting 2, 3, 4, 5. Now there's 5 frogs on the lilypad.
